Leveraging digital technologies to protect all workers, including gig and platform workers, was among the four priorities discussed by BRICS Labour and Employment Ministers under India’s 2026 BRICS Chairship. The discussions highlighted the importance of using digital technologies to strengthen inclusive social protection systems, improve access to benefits and services, enhance the governance and interoperability of digital systems, and promote decent work in line with international labour standards.
