18-19 July 2019
ILO Headquarters, Geneva
As part of the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the Indigenous and Tribal Peoples Convention, 1989 (No 169), the “Global Dialogue on Convention 169” brought together ILO constituents and UN mechanisms on the rights of indigenous peoples to better understand the scope of the Convention as well as to identify good practices and opportunities of peer-to-peer learning and partnerships.
In this context, South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) plays a relevant role on the implementation of the Convention 169. By promoting the collaboration among countries, SSTC provides a platform for different actors to share good practices, to build partnerships and participate in the design of collective solutions to overcome the challenges imposed by the implementation of the Convention.
