
Social protection and labour market formalization were among the four priorities discussed by BRICS Labour and Employment Ministers under India’s 2026 BRICS Chairship. The discussions highlighted the importance of extending adequate social security coverage to workers in all forms of employment, supporting transitions to formal employment and strengthening international cooperation to build more resilient, inclusive and sustainable labour markets.
