ILO PARTNERSHIPS convened a strategic meeting with representatives from India and Brazil to review progress on the India-funded Skills Taxonomy initiative within the G20 context.
Discussions covered early implementation steps, the establishment of a Project Advisory Group, and Brazil’s potential role in the Steering Group. Brazil signaled its support through data analysis, in-kind contributions, and possible collaboration on a G20 side event to showcase achievements. Participants also noted that the Indian Presidency is exploring the inclusion of the Skills Taxonomy within the forthcoming BRICS agenda.
Building on the cooperation agreement signed with India earlier this year, the project is now engaging selected partners such as Brazil, working alongside Steering Group members including the OECD and Germany. The meeting underscored the growing opportunities to deepen South-South and triangular cooperation as the initiative progresses.
