South-South Cooperation in Employment in ASEAN’ (ProSSCE-ASEAN)

The South-South Cooperation project ‘Promoting the Global Development Initiative with a Focus on South-South Cooperation in Employment in ASEAN’ (ProSSCE-ASEAN) funded by China held its annual Project Steering Committee(PSC) meeting on 20 Jan. 2025.  On behalf PARTNERSHIPS ILO, Director Mr. Peter Van Rooij delivered opening remarks. He thanked the Ministry for its continued great support, highlighted the achievements such as ‘the project has empowered over 114,000 beneficiaries in its second year of implementation’ , and recognized that ‘this project serves as a good example of South-South cooperation as a driving force for promoting employment in ASEAN countries’.

Mr. Jiang Wei, Deputy Director General of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security China, and Ms. Panudda Boonpala, and Deputy Regional Director of ILO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific also made opening remarks. Project manager Mr. Ling Sheng reported on the implementation and new workplan.  Ms. Anita, Head of ESPU unit made comments about this good model of South-South Cooperation and put forward suggestions for project future development. Members of the PSC discussed the achievements in 2024 and workplan for 2025.
