Social and Solidarity Economy and local economic development

🌍 How can the Social and Solidarity Economy SSE help drive local economic development and create lasting change?

📅 The upcoming World Forum of Local Economic Development (WFLED) in Seville, Spain 🇪🇸, from April 1-4, 2025, provides a platform to exchange experiences and good practices on how strengthening SSE models can transform local economies while advancing social justice, decent work and just transition, fostering social inclusion, and promoting sustainable development at local levels. ➡ https://lnkd.in/d6VsFCv3

💡 One inspiring example? The International Labour Organization’s Jeun’ess – EU4Youth project in Tunisia 🇹🇳, funded by the European Union 🇪🇺, empowers youth by promoting and financing their SSE initiatives. The project provides financing and training for SSE entities of youth linking them to markets. JEUN’ESS also works on strengthening support institutions and programmes that work on facilitating the creation of livelihoods opportunities in disadvantaged regions and in the transition to the formal economy, and strengthens collective entrepreneurship.

đź’ŞBy formalizing work and enhancing access to social protection, JEUN’ESS contributes to building stronger, more resilient communities. ➡ https://lnkd.in/dPKKhXwX

📽️ Hear from ILO’s JEUN’ESS Project Manager Youssef Fennira on the role that the SSE plays in improving youth engagement in Tunisia’s local economies and how the WFLED 2025 provides a platform for exchange ideas on building resilience through SSE entities.
