The 8th BRICS Labour and Employment Ministers’ Meeting was held by MOHRSS China on 14 July 2022. The Ministers of Labour and Employment from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa met virtually and discussed topics including promoting green jobs for sustainable development, developing skills for a resilient recovery and protecting workers’ rights in new forms of employment. The ILO DG Guy Ryder addressed the meeting and emphasized the need to boost skills and green jobs for a resilient and sustainable recovery. The meeting adopted the Declaration, in which BRICS solutions were proposed to achieve the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and a human-centered inclusive recovery.
